Accounting

Routes: /accounting (hub), /accounting/chart-of-accounts, /accounting/journal, /accounting/reports, /accounting/payment-accounts.

Every other module quietly feeds the hisnab. No accountant needed: every invoice, payment, refund, PO, and payroll run posts a proper double-entry journal automatically. You open Reports and see a Trial Balance that balances and a Profit & Loss — for the first time in the life of the shop.

Accounting hub

/accounting shows four cards: Chart of accounts, General ledger, Financial reports (trial balance and P&L), and Payment accounts (cash, bank, and card registers).

Chart of Accounts (/accounting/chart-of-accounts)

Ships with system accounts, pre-wired for a workshop:

  • 1000 Cash/Bank, 1100 Accounts Receivable, 1200 Inventory Asset
  • 2000 Customer Deposits
  • 4000 Service Revenue, 4100 Parts Revenue
  • 5000 Parts COGS

You can add custom accounts and deactivate rows. AR exists as a real account — which is why credit shows up as money on reports, not as scribbles.

General Ledger (/accounting/journal)

  • Every entry is numbered (JE-2026-00005) with a type: invoice, payment, refund, adjustment, parts, credit note, payroll, or manual — business events post themselves, and you can still add a manual entry for the odd cash thing.
  • Date-range and type filters; debit = credit on every row.
  • Entries literally read "Invoice INV-2026-00007 issued" then "final payment for job …" — an audit trail your CA can read.

Reports (/accounting/reports)

  • TRIAL BALANCE — all accounts with debit, credit, and balance (DR−CR); grand totals must match. One click, date-ranged.
  • PROFIT & LOSS report alongside it. The workshop Analytics page carries a P&L summary too: Gross Revenue − COGS − Labour − Overheads = Net Profit, Net Margin, VAT Collected.

Payment Accounts

  • Registers the workshop actually pays from: name, type (cash / bank / card / wallet), live balance, status — e.g. "Main Cash Register — Cash — ৳ 3,176.00".
  • These accounts are the POS payment-method dropdown and the invoice payment grid: set up a bKash or Nagad wallet here once and every counter sale and printed invoice can take it.
  • Balances move with every receipt, so "how much cash is in the box" is a lookup, not a count.

For the skeptics

  • "I have a CA at year end." — Send the trial balance and ledger export straight to him; he'll finish in a day instead of a month.
  • "I fear computers." — You do nothing new. Make the sale like normal; the accounts happen by themselves.
  • VAT? — Category tax rates, tax lines on invoices, a VAT Collected figure in analytics, and TIN/BIN printed on every document (see Platform & Settings).
