Inventory & Parts

Routes: /inventory (hub), /inventory/vendors, /inventory/purchase-orders, /inventory/products, /inventory/categories, /inventory/warranty.

Parts money dies quietly: stock sold off the books, vendor invoices that never match deliveries, dead stock eating cash. This module keeps live stock counts on every SKU, runs purchase orders end to end, and tracks warranty claims against vendors so faulty parts come back as credit, not as loss.

Inventory hub

/inventory shows KPI cards for Vendors (count, active suppliers, open POs), Products in catalogue, and Warranty claims (open) — each linking deep into its module.

Vendors (/inventory/vendors)

  • Tabs: Active / Inactive / All. ADD VENDOR with name, contact person, phone, email.
  • Columns include a balance — what you owe (or are owed) per supplier at a glance.

Purchase Orders (/inventory/purchase-orders)

  • Full lifecycle tabs: All / Draft / Sent / Partial / Received / Invoiced / Paid / Cancelled, filterable by vendor.
  • PO numbers (PO-2026-0001), linked vendor invoice number, paid amount vs total, and date.
  • Partial status matters locally: suppliers deliver half the order and bill later — the PO remembers exactly what landed and what's still due.
  • Receiving a PO restocks the products — stock and accounting stay consistent.

Products (/inventory/products)

  • Filters: category, status (Active / Inactive / Discontinued), and a LOW STOCK quick filter for the reorder list.
  • Columns: name + SKU + barcode, category, sale price (৳), live stock count, status.
  • Selling price and cost flow into the ledger: parts revenue and Parts COGS are separate system accounts, so gross margin on parts is real, not guessed.

Categories (/inventory/categories)

Every category carries a TAX RATE (e.g. Oil = 15% VAT). Category tax auto-applies on every POS line and invoice line — correct VAT without anyone doing math. There's an "include empty" toggle and per-row edit/delete.

Warranty claims (/inventory/warranty)

Reverse-logistics workflow: Customer Claimed → Sent to Vendor → Received from Vendor → Returned to Customer (or Rejected), with customer, issue description, and claim date.

The claim, the vendor, and the outcome are all on record — and with Job Payer Type = Warranty Claim (see Workshop Operations), vehicles under warranty don't get billed by accident.
