Staff & HR

Routes: /staff (hub), /staff/employees, /staff/attendance, /staff/leave, /staff/payroll, /staff/reports.

Paying staff in cash from the drawer with a notebook is how owners get robbed — slowly. This module is a proper HR register: who's employed, who showed up, who took leave, and a payroll sheet that computes gross, deductions, and net pay per month — then posts the whole run into the accounting ledger automatically.

Staff hub

/staff shows KPI cards for Employees, Pending leave, Outstanding advances, and This month's payroll. Salary advances are built in — when a worker asks for an advance against salary (constant in workshops), it's tracked, not forgotten.

Employees (/staff/employees)

Employee codes (EMP-2026-00001), name, designation (Mechanic, Assistant Mechanic…), shift (Morning…), status (Active / Inactive / Terminated — the record survives the employee), and join date.

Attendance (/staff/attendance)

  • CLOCK IN and CLOCK OUT FOR THE DAY buttons — attendance by real buttons, not trust.
  • Month / year / employee filters; per row: date, employee, status, clock in, clock out, hours.
  • Hours feed the workshop module's technician efficiency (flat hours vs clocked hours) — laziness or over-logging shows up as a number.

Leave (/staff/leave)

REQUEST LEAVE with employee, leave type, and date range; the system computes days. Approval workflow: Pending → Approved / Rejected / Cancelled, with year and employee filters.

Payroll (/staff/payroll)

  • NEW SHEET → monthly salary sheets with columns: period, title, status, TOTAL GROSS, TOTAL DEDUCTIONS, NET PAYABLE.
  • Payroll is a journal entry type in the ledger — salary runs hit the books without the owner touching the accounting module.
  • Payslips are a printable document template — hand the mechanic a proper slip, not a loose note.

HR Reports (/staff/reports)

Tabs: Attendance / Leave Balance / Payroll History, with filters by year, month, and employee. Attendance summary columns: Present, Absent, Late, Half Day, On Leave, Holiday, Overtime Hours — everything needed for the annual bonus / festival conversation.

The tie-in to know: the same clock-in data decides both the bonus and the salary — check /workshop/staff (jobs, flat hours, efficiency %, revenue per mechanic) against payroll. No arguing.

Next: Accounting.
